爱死你 (Love You To Death)

爱死你 (LOVE YOU TO DEATH) is a short narrative film depicting a dysfunctional couple’s argument that ended in tragedy. Pulling inspiration from Mee Pok Man (1995), Helter Skelter (2012) and films from Wong Kar Wai, 爱死你 (LOVE YOU TO DEATH) hopes to bring viewers through the turmoil and emotional spiral the protagonist goes through.

As the assistant director of 爱死你 (LOVE YOU TO DEATH) , I was focused on translating the vision of the director to the cast & crew. I also directed the spiralling scenes of the protagonist. These specific scenes I drew heavy inspiration from Helter Skelter (2012). For the edit, I referenced Wong Kar Wai’s heavy use of green in his colour grading to set the sinister and dark mood of the film.
