THE FINANCIAL ADVISOR is a narrative film following Jun Jie getting approached by Jia Hui to buy insurance plans . Most of our natural reactions would be to politely decline or just walk away, right? Well, Jia Hui stroke a nerve and Jun Jie never backs down when taunted.

This film utilises a commonplace and relatable situation, while injecting a twist to entertain viewers.

Being the assistant director of THE FINANCIAL ADVISOR, I was ensuring that the director’s vision - who was doubling as the main cast - was brought to life accurately on set. Due to a lack of manpower, I also had to double on set as a camera assistant, ensuring that the shots are as intended.

As the art director, I was in-charge of designing and obtaining the collaterals, props and costumes. Lastly, for the edit, the film was focused on being relatable with a real-life situation, while being comedic. So the treatment was to ensure realistic colours, as well as snappy cuts to deliver punchlines.
